HOW TO USE “ADD COMIC” FORM

GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. You must have the exact release in your possession when you make a release submission.
  2. Not all fields are obligatory, but the more information that is included increases the usability of the database for everyone. Required fields are: Title, Colour, Release Date, Format, Language, Images, Comic Publisher.
  3. If you’re adding Authors, Comic Publisher, Serie, Storyarc and Character that are not in Becomix, please fill out the with the basic details.
  4. The standard Becomix rule for english release is to capitalize the first letter of each word for the Artist, Series, Publishers, Storyarc and so on. Exception: Artist and title names which use unique letter-casing are accepted when it is intentional. This also applies to artist name particles (e.g. van, von, di, de, la, etc.), which can be lower case. Acronyms should follow what is written on the release, including any punctuation if used. Roman numerals should be entered using standard uppercase letters I, V, X, L, C, D, M.
  5. TITLE: type the title as is written in the cover. If it is a serie add the number of the issue (#). In case of homonomy with editions of other countries, type the country acronym in parenthese. Ex.: Usa original version “X-Men 2099 #4”; italian version “2099 X-Men #4 (ITA)”
  6. Before to submit a release, please check if it already exist in the database.
  7. You can use (number) to disambiguate two release.
  8. Users should use what is written on the release as much as is possible. If there are some errors in the release, please insert the correct information under COVER PRICE AND NOTES.
  9. Please use English. You can write comments and reviews in your own language, but the release form has to be completed in English.
  10. It is important to communicate the errors and nature of the correction to other users.

TITLE

  1. Use this field to enter the main title of the release as written in the cover.
  2. Before to submit a release, please check if it already exist in the database.
  3. Capitalize the first letter of each word.
  4. Insert the number of the release; ex. “Amazing Spider-Man #121”.
  5. In case of homonomy with editions of other countries, type the country acronym in parenthese. Ex.: Usa original version “X-Men 2099 #4”; italian version “2099 X-Men #4 (ITA)”.
  6. It is possible to add identifier format to distinguish with other release, es.: “Ghost World – Twentieth Softcover Edition”.
  7. Specify if there is a Variant Cover.
  8. If needed, add more information under COVER PRICE & NOTES.
  9. This is a required field.

EPISODE TITLE

  1. Use this field to enter the main title of the release.
  2. Please follow the general Becomix guidelines for capitalization.
  3. You can add several episode titles.
  4. This field is optional.

SERIE

  1. Use this field to enter the name of the series.
  2. Please check the editorial information in the inside.
  3. Entering a comic series name that is not in Becomix will create a new comic series page.
  4. If the name of the series has changed, use the exact name you can see on the release. If needed, use “Notes” to add additional information.
  5. This field is optional, but if the release is part of a series, it is highly recommended to insert it.
  6. If you’re adding a comic series that is not in Becomix, please fill out the “Comic Series” profile with the basic details.
  7. In case of homonomy with editions of other countries, type the country acronym in parenthese. Ex.: Usa original version “X-Men 2099”; italian version “2099 X-Men (ITA)”.

RELEASE DATE

  1. Use this field to enter the release date.
  2. “Day” is not necessary and will not appear.
  3. Use the calendar to select the year and month.
  4. If you don’t know the month, choose january and specify in COVER PRICE AND NOTES.
  5. Date is required. If you don’t know, estimate one and write in COVER PRICE & NOTES that is a esteem. We will search for it!
  6. If it is a reprint without no differences with the original one, insert the original release date; Write in COVER PRICE AND NOTES the number of reprints.
  7. When you sell a comics, specify which repritn it is the comics you are selling.

COLOUR

  1. This field is required.
  2. Select in the checkbox if it is b/w or color.
  3. If you select other, specify in COVER PRICE & NOTES.

COMIC PUBLISHER

  1. Use this field to enter the Publisher House name.
  2. Please follow the general Becomix guidelines for capitalization.
  3. Entering a new comic publisher name that is not in Becomix will create a new comic publisher page; If you add a new one, please fill up with basic information;
  4. If the release is a supplementary of a journal or a magazine, please insert the journal’s publisher.
  5. Use COVER PRICE AND NOTES to add major informations.
  6. This field is required.
  7. If it is self-published, please enter this information in COVER PRICE & NOTES.
  8. If is not specified, leave it blank.

AUTHORS AND ROLE

  1. Use this field to enter the artist.
  2. If there is only one author of the comics, inserti it in “Comic Author”; otherwise, choose the correct field.
  3. You can add how many artist you need whit +.
  4. Type NAME and SURNAME or pseudonym.
  5. If you’re adding a new artist, please fill out the “Comic Artist” profile with basic details.
  6. If the author is anonymous, please leave it blank.
  7. The presence of an author in the database is suggested.

SELECT FORMAT

  1. Choose a format from the chart.
  2. If it is “other”, please specify in COVER PRICE AND NOTES.
  3. this field is required.

SELECT GENRES

  1. Use the chart to select the genres.
  2. if it “Other”, please specify in COVER PRICE AND NOTES.
  3. you can choose how many genres you need.

CHARACTER

  1. Use this field to enter the main characters of the release.
  2. The presence of a character in the dìdatabase is suggested.
  3. You can add how many characters you nedd with +.
  4. Entering a character name that is not in Becomix wil create a new character page; if you’re adding a character, please fill out the Character profile with basic details.
  5. Insert the most common name of a character; in profile you can add alias and others nicknames.
  6. Insert the name as written in the release; we will connect all the diferent names in the profile.

GROUP

  1. Use this field to enter groups appearing in the release, if there are any.
  2. You can add as many groups as you need using +.
  3. Entering a group name that is not in Becomix will create a new Group page; if you’re adding a group that is not in Becomix, please fill out the “Group” profile with basic details.
  4. Insert the group name as written in the release.

STORYARC

  1. If the issue is part of a story arc, please use this field to enter it (ex. Civil War).
  2. This field is optional, but if the release is part of a storyarc, it is higly recommended to insert it.
  3. If the storyarc name is the name of a character, please insert “(event)”, ex.: “Onslaught (event)”.
  4. Entering a storyarc that is not in Becomix will create a Storyarc page; please fill out “Storyarc profile with basic details.

LANGUAGE

  1. Choose in the chart the language of the release.
  2. If there is no language in the comic, please insert “Unspecified”.
  3. This field is required.

SELECT COUNTRY

  1. Choose the country were the comic was published (NOT MANUFACTORED).
  2. This filed is required.
  3. If it is impossible to know where it was published, choose “Unspecified”.

CODES

  1. Type the ISBN or other codes of the comic.
  2. Specify the code type, ex.: ISBN 978-88-89508-48-0 .

COVER PRICE & NOTES

  1. Type the original cover price.
  2. You can add weight, dimensions, other format information and what you think is relevant.
  3. Write in english.
  4. Don’t do a review or insert spoilers.

IMAGES

  1. This field is required.
  2. You can take a picture from your device, or taking it by internet.
  3. It is not alowed to use copyrighted images.
  4. The maximun size is 200 Kb.
  5. The format should be .bmp, .jpeg, or .png.
  6. You can add other images when editing the release.

OTHER INFORMATIONS

EDIT AUTHOR

  1. Mod Auth: modify Author name.
  2. Mod A Name: add author nickname or pseudonymous.
  3. Mod A Bio: add author biography.
  4. Mod A Site: add author web page.
  5. Mod A Awards: add awards winned by the author.
  6. Select Country: add the nationality.
  7. Character Invented: add characters invented by the author.
  8. Character Contributed: add characters contributed (written or illustrated) by the author; ex.: in Frank Miller profile you can add Daredevil here.

EDIT CHARACTER

  1. Mod Name: modify character name; general rule is to use the most common name; ex. Wolverine, not Logan; if there are other version of the character, specify: ex. Wolverine (Earth-616) .
  2. Mod C Alter Ego: add the character personal name, ex. James Howlett for Wolverine.
  3. Mod C Aliases: add alies, ex.: Logan for Wolverine.
  4. Mod Ch Bio: wrote a short bio.
  5. Mod Group Affiliation: add the group affilitation (X-Men, X-Force, etc).
  6. Mod First Appearance: add the first appereance; ATTENTION: YOU SHOULD ADD A RELEASE OF THE DATABASE TO COMPLETE THIS FIELD; if there isn’t, leave blank.
  7. Creators: add Creators.

EDIT PUBLISHER – MODIFICA EDITORE

  1.  Type the complete name of the publisher.
  2. Subpublisher: sublaber (es.: Vertigo Comics).
  3. History: publisher history.
  4. Site: add the site.

EDIT STORYARC – MODIFICA ARCO NARRATIVO (SAGA)
